I go there about ever two weeks and I really am treated very well. Jim is a very nice person and always has time to visit a little.
I really like this store. I understand why people are saying it's a little dirty. It could use a good cleaning. But I love the selection and the place in general. I hope that when its passed down it gets a remodel done and that it's brought up to date. Also whoever it's passed to has a love 4 animals as myself.

The owner of the place is a nice guy but I can tell he seems depressed like he put his whole life into making this store work and he's seems like he's almost 85 years old and still working 7 days a week unbelievable...i do notice the stench when I go in there it stinks like reptile fecal matter that's been decaying. The fish tanks do need to be cleaned badly. I know I've seen a younger woman there maybe in her early 30's when I met her I thought she worked there but she said she just like Jim the owner and she's just been trying to help him out when she has spare time to volunteer. If you ask me he needs a few more nice people like this that don't for their love of volunteering and the love of the animals and fish. The one thing I could recommend is clean clean clean clean I've been in there a lot and have only seen someone cleaning a couple times...except for the recent young lady that I met who's volunteering to clean for him
As others said theres a smell, just like every other pet store. Petco and petland are worse. Massive selection of fish. This one store has more tanks than most of the other chain stores combined and way better fish. I saw a few dead fish, but theres usually more in the chain stores. The old guy is very pleasant and accommodating. Theres a few fish that are way to large for the tanks they are in, but i doubt most people could keep them better. As long a you look around and find what you want its great. the old guy some times doesnt always remember what alls there. Which i get theres a lot of tanks. He writes what to feed each tank as theres a couple other employees and he has trouble remembering, i think. Will be back, this is my new store.
